Skin Cancer Prevention
Skin cancer is the most frequent form of cancer in humans, and it is on the rise, currently affecting one out of five people during their lifetime. There are three different major forms of skin cancer: Melanoma, Basal Cell Carcinoma, and Squamous Cell Carcinoma. Each of these cancers is primarily caused by exposure to the ultraviolet radiation of the sun, which damages the DNA in skin cells.
Careful inspection of the skin, with particular emphasis and monitoring of moles is performed yearly or more frequently based on individual risk factors. Newest technologies allow high magnification examination for improved diagnostic features.
