Gramercy Park Dermatology is unique among skin care practices. We have an 90-year reputation as a New York institution and destination practice for all aspects of skin health.

We want you to live agelessly in your skin. We use today's (and yesterday's) full complement of imaging tools and lasers to diagnose and treat. While we are future-oriented in our use of skin science and technology, we understand the importance of hands-on, personal care.

Our
Philosophy

Gramercy Park Dermatology began with Dr. Andrew G Franks, Sr in 1934 who built a thriving practice over three generations with compassionate, state of the art medicine delivered in his signature “country doctor” style. In addition to private practice, he was Professor of Dermatology at NYU where he was Chief of Service at the Skin and Cancer Unit. With degrees in both Law and Medicine, he was regarded as a medical legal expert in skin disease and founded the American Academy of Occupational Medicine.

In 1978, Dr. Andrew G. Franks, Jr. joined Gramercy Park Dermatology, bringing new expertise and an equal “personal touch” style of medical practice.  Board certified in Dermatology, Rheumatology, and Internal Medicine, Dr. Andrew Franks, Jr. is recognized nationwide for his diagnostic acumen and treatment strategies in Autoimmune Connective Tissue Disease.

In 1994, after completing four years of active duty service in the US Air Force Medical Corps,  Dr. Linda K. Franks joined her husband and father-in-law, continuing the legacy of science based skin care at GPD. In 1996, she introduced the CO2 Laser to GPD, initiating the application of  Aesthetic Dermatology to a wide range of patients, including those with connective tissue disease and scarring.  Dr Linda K. Franks continues to bring the latest generation of laser expertise, surgical procedures, and cosmetic techniques to the practice.
